Raising the bedroom wall

Five guys tried raising this wall the day before but could only get it waist high. Rich went and borrowed the wall jacks that night and was able to raise the wall the next day. Thanks Joe!
Helping Rich is (starting from the right) Seth, Rich's Left hand man (Rich is left handed), Byron,
our young 16 yr old friend and carp apprentice, and on the left side of Rich is Matt, Seths' friend who came out and helped that day.

The framed wall is the wall separating Masons room (on left) and Marleys room( on right) from the living wall. the doorway leads to the hallway to the bathroom and the kids bedrooms. The ladder leads to our bedroom floor and to the right is the kitchen. Richs truck on the left is parked where the deck will be.

Insulation

Sheeting the floor

Rich and I insulated the first row so he could get started on sheeting the floor. I then finished the rest of the insulation on my own. We are using cotton insulation. Recycled blue jeans. It's pretty cool when you look at it has little chunks of blue jeans in it. It is a little more expensive than the asbestos filled stuff but we think its worth it. You can't put a price on health.
We are attempting to go green the whole way(or blue in this case).

Is there nothing this man can't do

After being together for 16 years I finally saw Rich fold laundry. This was so amazing I had to take a picture. I knew it wouldn't last long so I ran for the camera. Not only can he build our house he can fold our laundry. I am such a lucky girl. This unfortunately was the first and last time he has done this.

Floor joists

It didn't take long after the concrete was poured Rich had the floor joists on.

Rich and Seth watch as the cement comes out of the hose, most likely cracking jokes.

Pouring the concrete

44 yards of Concrete were used for our foundation. Granite Construction came with 8 trucks.
Thank you to all that helped that day, Seth Martin, Larry Jensen ( our neighbor), and Arion and Morgan ( our other neighbors and friends). The round wall is for the spiral staircase up to our bedroom. Rich and Larry are right at the entrance way. And the top left of the photo is our Kitchen area.
